Too. Much. Stupidity - comic

Description

I couldn't help it! Ever watch the anime? - Satoshi (Or Ash, for all those who watch the dub) seems to forget things lightning quick and needs to, erm, remember a pocket monster he's seen only an episode or two ago.

Besides, he's not exactly the smartest main character around either.

And...names of the English pokemon were used because I figured most people here would understand it better that way than if I used the Japanese originals. X3

Please forgive if it's not as tidy as my other comics...this is my first time using a better art program than my older one, and I'm still learning the ropes.

Media: Mitsubishi Uni Inks, Tria Markers, Pro Markers, PrismaColor Pencils, Hybrid Gel Pen.
Legal Stuff: Pocket Monsters Property of Nintendo

Wow, I was a major fan of Pokemon in the fourth/fifth grade, and just recently one of the newer movies came on television. I actually got insanely bored with the movie, but it led me to doing a lot of "research" on dA and youtube.com to relive old times. I gotta tell ya, this particular deviation really spoke to me. :XD:

Poor, stupid Satoshi/Ash...my biggest peeve about him was that he hardly ever seemed to use the strategies that got me through the game.

Ash: "Hmm, a Magmar? Let's see, the Pokedex says he's weak against water type Pokemon...so..." *Looks at Blastiose for a long time* "...Pikachu! Go! Get your ass kicked!" WTF? :XD:

About the actual artistry you applied in this picture, though, I really love your style. Even when it's just a for-laughs comic, it really reads well and looks nice, clean, and simple. Sometimes drawing in a simplistic or chibi style can be a lot harder than it entails, but you make it look so easy!

I also love the coloring, and I especially marveled about the shading inside the Pokedex's speech bubbles (for some reason I was just brutally reminded of how they used to call the Pokedex "Dexter" in the dub...ick...).

All around, great job!
